Beauty of Sunrise

I will keep repeating this - but early morning wake up is so worth it! And of course, that was the case last Saturday when we woke up for our Photo walk dedicated to Beauty of sunrise. And beauty it was! Great clouds, orange color, dusky sky, ever changing weather - and of course - group of fantastic enthusiasts eager to wake up so early on Saturday morning! Oh yeah - and a bit of walk too ;)
And do you see that red light on the strong foreground subject (rocks I mean ;)? Well, that was actually created by an accident initially, when I have pointed with my red colored headlight during an exposure! White light would probably ruin the photo, but when I saw the results I was "WOW!" and we repeated this light-painting several times... Thank you Jane, Emily, Tony, Joe, Rick and Giuliano!

Skvelé mraky, oranžová farba, modrá obloha, stále sa mieniace počasie - no a samozrejme - skupina skvelých foto nadšencov, ktorí neváhali si v sobotu privstať! No a ešte aj trochu tej prechádzky k tomu ;)
Ďakujem vám Jane, Emily, Tony, Joe, Rick a Giuliano!

Beauty of the early morning

As a travel photographer (which means being a photographer who travels a lot) I am privileged to take pictures in the beautiful parts of the world. I am also lucky to have an opportunity to meet great people and help them to become better photographers. And that was again a case last Sunday when we had early morning "Photo Walkie-Talkie" next to Lac Leman. Early alarm was so worth it and we all were rewarded with a spectacular sunrise with all the colors and clouds to make it pop! As often is the case, light show lasted for about 15 minutes, but during that time... Oh my, I have heard a lot of woooows and yeaaahs. Thank you Mariel, Mariana, Tony, Kylie, Lina and Polly!
PS: And as a side bonus - I could get picture for this theme of project 52, which is: Magic of the early morning! :)

Čéče, počul som veľa jééééj a waaaauw. Ďakujem vám Mariel, Mariana, Tony, Kylie, Lina and Polly!
PS: A ako bonus mám fotky do tohtotýždňovej témy Projektu 52 - Kúzlo skorého rána! ;)

And some behind the scenes of course ;) / A samozrejme zopár záberov "spoza scény"...

uphill and downhill

We were driving from one park few weeks ago in St. Louis South county, and I was just tailgating my friend Jana. But when we got at the peak of one hill and I saw what is ahead of, how nice hilly road is laying there ...I immediately knew I have to get back early in the morning to take a picture with a long exposure... And I was right! Lines were irresistible... And 6.45am there was already quite a traffic to help me "to paint" them bold and long!
Of course, the best moment to take picture vertically is right after the horizontal one.

And the last photo at the bottom was taken 30 minutes later, when dawn was gone.

Vracali sme sa autom z návštevy jedného parku v južnej časti St. Louis a ja som len sledoval auto kamarátky Janky. A mal som pravdu! To mi pomohlo "namaľovať" čiary riadne dlhé a hrubé!

morning traffic in verbier

What to do in a famous ski center Verbier when you do not ski? Set alarm for 5.45am, wake up staff at the reception to get out of the "chalet" and go out to capture this unbelievably curvy road to Verbier. Well, weather didn't cooperated as I hoped for (plan was to have much more snowy mountains in the background). But to my surprise, there was at least quite a traffic to get a car light trails.

prague - city of 100 towers

Do you also wonder why Prague is called city of 100 towers? Well, do not anymore. Browsing through my summer pictures I found one which is a clear proof of it ;)

Shot early morning at Petrin hill, few moments before sunrise. f/16 @ 1/60 seconds. How many towers you see? ;) Let me know...
